This Week's Topic:  Does my relationship deserve a second chance?

They say the dating "game" is rough; the older you become, the harder it is to trust, there's the baggage and the "other stuff."  Well folks, sorry to say but the older you become, the more baggage you just may carry.  So the question is, because you are familiar with an ex, would you consider giving him/her a second chance at a relationship?  We know, they say an ex is an ex for a reason, but could it be that the timing just could have been wrong?  Some folk simply DO NOT need to repeat, but others may need to take the leap of faith.

Before going into anything, whether old or new, you need to know if it is worth it.  You also need to ask yourself, what was the cause of the breakup.  Did they cheat, cheat and try to hide it? In that, would getting back with them only reinforce that behavior and what lesson was learned?  Can a person really change?  How about those emotions?  Were they emotional or emotionless?

Then there is the unfinished business.  I think many get stuck there, the need to know phase.  Make sure you're not holding on to the simple "thought of them."

Many times we don't go through the silent treatment to clarity.  What's the silent treatment?  It is no texting, no talking on the phone, no FaceBook, no Twitter over a period of time.   Ask yourself, do you miss them before you miss having someone around and don't like being by yourself?  Let's talk about it and make sure you're simply not lonely.  Whether you believe it or not, something lies deep within that makes one do what they do.

Real Talk the Movement will put in WORK AGAIN with Host and Founder LaTonya Washington, Co-Host Tshombe Tshanti, Chat Room Moderator Juacclyn Nikol, Docs on Hand, Dr. Monica and Dr. Ryeal "Relationship Coach" Sims and YOU!

Real Talk the Movement

This is where we began and it CONTINUES....REAL TALK!

Real Talk the Movement is a relationship forum that discusses the inherent need for effective communication between MEN AND WOMEN. It's not always what you say; sometimes, it's how you say it! Effective communication is the cornerstone of every functioning relationship, but if no one is listening, there is nothing to be heard.  The forum is presented primarily from the male perspective on real issues and real concerns.

YEAR 2013 is upon us and Real Talk the Movement continues to be READY for the task at hand!  We all have past experiences and with those experiences, we should learn from.  Have you taken your experiences and treated them as lessons?  I hope so!  That is why Real Talk the Movement is about real people, real communities with real concerns being about SOLUTIONS!
